Casathane® Thermoplastic Polyurethane Resins

Casathane® 920
A non-reactive polyurethane solution designed for use with nitrocellulose in flexographic or gravure packaging inks.

Key Benefits:

  • Excellent adhesion to a wide range of flexible films

Casathane® 922
A non-reactive polyurethane solution for use with nitrocellulose in flexographic or gravure packaging inks.

Key Benefits:

  • Good reducibility with alcohols
  • Fully soluble in esters
  • Low odour and hard film formation
  • Excellent adhesion and resistance to blocking, heat, water, and grease

Key Difference Between 920 and 922:

Inks made with Casathane® 922 are slightly harder and less flexible than those prepared using Casathane® 920.

Casathane® Thermoplastic Polyurethane Resins

Casathane® 920

  • Contains 75% solids in ethyl acetate for concentrated performance
  • Low odour formulation ideal for packaging-sensitive applications
  • Compatible with nitrocellulose and acrylics (confirmed by resin compatibility testing)
  • Provides tough, clear films with minimal tack and excellent flexibility
  • Promotes low migration and good compliance with indirect food contact norms

Casathane® 922

  • Low viscosity for easy processing
  • Completely soluble in esters and alcohols for flexible reduction
  • Forms hard, glossy films with low blocking tendencies
  • Excellent adhesion to a broad range of plastic substrates
  • Low odour ink systems suitable for packaging
  • Compatible with nitrocellulose, acrylics, and some PVBs
  • Suitable for flexographic and gravure applications
